I shot celebrity chef Guy Fieri for The Food Network during the taping of an episode of ‘Tailgate Warriors’ in Oakland, CA. I am often hired to shoot on-set TV production stills that are used by the network to promote the show online and in print. It usually involves working around the often tight shooting schedule of the cast and crew in a lot of run-and-gun situations. This plays upon my strength and experience as a documentary photographer; you need to work fast, maximize the time you have with the talent and stay out of the way of the production crew.

“Cities, like dreams, are made of desires and fears, even if the thread of their discourse is secret, their rules are absurd, their perspectives deceitful, and everything conceals something else.”

A portrait I shot of Google senior executive Marissa Mayer was featured this week on Newsweek.com. The photo was originally shot in 2008 and licensed through my agent, Zuma Press. Such re licensing underscores the importance of retaining ownership over the images you create.
